The Automotive Parts Counter Associate assists customers, service technicians, and retail clients by identifying, sourcing, and selling automotive parts and accessories. This role requires strong customer service skills, knowledge of vehicle parts, and the ability to manage inventory and parts orders efficiently.

• Assist customers and service technicians in identifying and purchasing correct automotive parts and accessories

• Provide knowledgeable recommendations based on vehicle make, model, and repair needs

• Look up parts using electronic catalog systems and manufacturer databases

• Process parts orders, returns, and exchanges accurately

• Maintain organized inventory and restock shelves as needed

• Coordinate with the service department to ensure technicians receive parts quickly

• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items

• Handle incoming shipments and verify parts against purchase orders

• Maintain a clean and organized parts counter and storage area

• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer inquiries or issues

• Previous experience in automotive parts, auto repair, or retail parts sales preferred

• Basic knowledge of automotive systems and components

• Ability to use parts lookup software and point-of-sale systems

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy in orders and inventory

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• Basic computer skills

• Experience working in a dealership or automotive parts store

• Familiarity with parts catalog systems (OEM or aftermarket)

• Bilingual communication skills (a plus)

• Ability to lift and carry parts and boxes (up to 40–50 lbs)

• Standing for extended periods

• Occasional bending, reaching, and moving inventory

• Automotive dealership, repair shop, or parts retail environment

• Interaction with technicians, suppliers, and customers throughout the day
