ABOUT THE POSITION
The Maintenance Technician at our premier country club is a crucial role responsible for the maintenance and repair of Riviera facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for members and guests. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the club's high standards of safety, quality, and a visually appealing environment for our members and guests.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute routine maintenance and repairs on club facilities, including buildings, electrical systems, plumbing, and fixtures.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
- Maintain and repair various equipment, machinery, and building systems within Riviera, such as HVAC systems, kitchen appliances, and plumbing.
- Perform preventative maintenance to extend the life of equipment and reduce downtime.
- Undertake small construction projects, repairs, and improvements to club facilities, including carpentry, painting, and minor installations.
- Ensure projects are completed to high-quality standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols, standards, and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance tasks.
- Report safety concerns and compliance issues promptly.
- Respond to maintenance and repair emergencies, such as equipment malfunctions or facility issues, to minimize disruptions and ensure member and guest safety.
- Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and materials, promptly replenishing as needed.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, preventative maintenance schedules, and supply usage.
- Provide documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with the engineering department team, other departments, and management to coordinate maintenance tasks and address specific needs.
- All other duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor & Administrative Assistant and Director of Facilities that reasonably fall within the scope of the position and department.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proven experience in facility and equipment maintenance, light construction, and handyman tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in maintenance tools and equipment, including power tools and heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work within a variety of work environments, including dark and/or enclosed spaces.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- A valid CA driver’s license and a clean driving record (required).
- Proficiency in standard computer skills, including typing, Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demanding schedules.
- Professionalism, poise, and a positive attitude, even in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of the country club industry or hospitality sector (preferred, not required).
- Ability to consistently lift and carry up to 85 lbs. throughout the scheduled work shift.
- Ability to consistently lift, bend, twist, reach overhead, drag, push, pull, and kneel throughout the scheduled work shift.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Additional technical training or certifications related to maintenance and repair are beneficial.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years in a maintenance, repair, construction, or similar position.
GROOMING
All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per club standards.
Must wear uniform at all times while at work and on premises.
OTHER
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
