About This Position
Performs duties in support of one or more instructional disciplines. Typical duties are listed below. The employee is expected to work in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment.
This position will support both our Southfield and Highland Lakes (Waterford) campuses.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required:
1. Maintains inventories, orders supplies in accordance with college purchasing procedures, prepares maintenance work orders, and arranges for outside repairs of equipment and instruments, as necessary.
2. Monitors safety and security of work area, equipment, supplies, and materials; maintains cleanliness of work area, ensuring conformity with MIOSHA directives.
3. Coordinate and staffs open lab hours
4. Issues and checks in instruments, teaching aids, supplies, equipment, and materials.
5. Performs necessary clerical duties and functions.
6. Performs related tasks, as assigned.
7. Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
NURSING AND HEALTH PROFESSIONS:
1. Supports Nursing and allied health programs
2. Sets up materials and equipment for student simulation experience;
3. Participates in training for discipline/departmental technology. Trains and directs college personnel with appropriate approval for equipment use.
4. Travels off-campus to obtain supplies and materials; delivers and picks up equipment and instruments/devices as needed.
5. Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies required for instruction.
6. Enters requisitions for goods and services.
7. Assists financial services with applying asset tags and with tracking of equipment.
8. Assists with updating simulation software for monitors and manikins.
9. Procures quotes; enters and tracks change requests.
10. Assists Director of Simulation and Learning Technologies with the equipment replacement plan.
11. Able to lift 25-50 pounds; Ex, laundry, stacking manikins, moving/washing beds, etc.
EDUCATION:
An earned Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing, Health Professions – related field or Biology
EXPERIENCE:
Must possess and maintain a current and valid Michigan driver's license

Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare, lab or clinical setting
