Human Resources Generalist at Sterling Construction Company, Inc. – Draper, Utah

What You’ll Do

• • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and leadership, addressing questions and providing guidance on policies, procedures, and compliance
  • Assist the HR Director with employee relations issues, performance management, and coaching support for leaders and staff
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reports, and HRIS data while ensuring confidentiality
  • Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HR program support
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are applied consistently and in compliance with employment laws
  • Assist leadership in organizational development initiatives, employee engagement programs, and HR process improvements

Required Qualifications

• • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a closely-related field (required to be considered)
  • Active SHRM (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) or PHR certification (required to be considered)
  • 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role
  • The ability to speak Spanish highly preferred
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or field-based organizations highly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS systems, benefits administration, and payroll
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate with employees and leaders at all levels
