Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our team at American Equipment, a leading overhead crane service company in the United States.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise and support for the design, analysis, and inspection of structural components and systems related to overhead cranes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural analysis and design calculations for overhead crane systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for structural challenges.
  • Coordinate and maintain budgets and deadlines per project and customer requirements.
  • Perform structural inspections and assessments to identify potential risks, deficiencies, and maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation, including drawings, specifications, and project proposals.
  • Provide technical support to the sales and customer service teams, assisting with project estimation, equipment selection, and customer inquiries.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance and resolve any engineering-related issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in structural engineering and crane technology, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills.
  • Respond in a timely manner to new assignments, rework, customer issues to resolve stressful situations.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in the field of structural analysis and design.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards, including AISC, ASCE, and ACI.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software, such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, or STAAD Pro.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software for the preparation of engineering drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a permanent, full-time position.
