Maintenance Mechanic at Orchid Monroe LLC – Elk Grove Village, Illinois

Mapes and Sprowl powered by UPG is looking to fill the position of a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Elk Grove Village, IL location. Mapes & Sprowl is looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in the fast-paced environment. Any relevant steel experience is preferred, but not required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform duties required to install and maintain production machines and facility equipment.

• Interpret, install, and modify control systems including programmable controllers, drives, etc.

• Perform mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting and repairs for equipment.

• Interpret and maintain documents, prints, and schematics.

• Lead the Maintenance department. Coordinate and organize shop projects.

• Lead the preventive maintenance system and follow prescribed PM schedules.

• Make repairs to building, performing basic carpentry, and painting operations, etc.

• Research suppliers, contractors, and companies used to repair, replace, and/or manufacture parts including submitting purchase orders.

• Daily interaction with production, operations, and engineering on related items as needed.

• Assist with continuous improvement and cost savings ideas.

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following safety standards.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience.

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair various type of equipment.

• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, schematic, etc.

• Experience in steel industry preferred.

• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.

• Experience with a CMMS preferred.

• Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic.
