About This Position

UNIT SUMMARY: The Neuroscience Unit at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore is a 36-Bed, Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU) and is an essential part of The Joint Commission and the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services certified Primary Stroke Center at Sinai. In addition to stroke patients, Neuroscience nurses care for neurosurgery, epilepsy monitoring (EMU) and Neuro Progressive Monitoring patients. All 36 beds are telemetry capable. ACLS is required within 6 months post hire date. Neuro Nurses will receive NIHSS Certification during Orientation, in addition of earning Trauma and Stroke certification(s.) Sinai Hospital's Neuro Nurses receive the same traing scale as a Neuro ICU Nurse for Neurology Patients.

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supportive role to the Unit Nurse Manager and staff. This role has 24/7 accountability with a focus on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, the patient experience, facilitating patient throughput, staff engagement, operations, fiscal and change management. In addition, it will be a requirement for this individual to maintain basic nursing skills as required by their specialty. The individual must demonstrate basic competence in clinical, ethical and legal aspects surrounding the provision of patient care.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, (BSN)
  • 1 year of formal nursing leadership experience is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant Neuro Progressive RN experience required.
  • Maryland Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association CPR Certification, PALS & ACLS within 6 months of hire (if applicable)
