We currently seek a temporary full-time Jr. Budget Analyst to provide support to your Fiscal/Grants Management team. The Junior Budget Analyst supports the Budget Analyst Team within Osborne’s financial department. The ideal candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented individual who can multitask, meet deadlines, and work closely with other staff.
This is a temporary six-month position which may be extended based on departmental needs. This position has a hybrid schedule, reporting out of Osborne's Brooklyn Office.
Salary: $32.97-$35.71 per hour
Requirements:Essential Duties:
- Prepares and/or reviews payroll registers and all supporting documentation for vouchers for payment to be submitted to funders on behalf of the Budget Analyst Team.
- Prepares journal entries for correcting misallocation of expenses on behalf of the team
- Reviews payroll status form changes and reconciles any errors in the monthly salary allocations.
- Assist in the monthly closing of the general ledger.
- Assist in creating revenue entries in financial software
- Prepares revenue/expense reports as assigned by Revenue Director
- Reviews purchase orders and codes expenses as assigned.
- Monitors spending for line item contracts and prepares spending forecasts as assigned.
- Supports other staff within the finance department by conducting research, compiling data, and conducting data entry.
- Allocate funding sources in the HRIS system
- Maintains financial data in accordance with Osborne’s policies and those of its funders. Supports the audit process. Protects and secures all financial information.
- Provide support for all audits, and financial reporting.
- Ensure Osborne Association complies with all fiscal regulatory and legal requirements
- Attend required training(s)
- This position is a hybrid role, divided between remote work and in-person work at our Brooklyn Heights office (elevator building)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- Completed internship experience in related coursework OR minimum of one year experience either in analyzing financial data and preparing vouchers for a non-profit organization and/or work experience in accounting
- Experience in preparing and posting journal entries is preferred
Key Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Competence in grant accounting is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, pay strong attention to detail, and time management skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Proficiency in Financial Edge is a plus but not a requirement
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
- Ability to travel locally
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and build strong relationships
