Senior FDOT Estimator at Conti Electric Inc – Pompano Beach, Florida

Conti LLC Traffic Division seeks Senior DOT Estimator:

Conti LLC is looking for an Senior Estimator with 8+ years minimum experience in Traffic/DOT construction. This person will be responsible for preparing cost estimates on DOT Traffic projects (Lighting, ITS, Signalization, Signing, Tolling) based on construction plans and specifications.

Job responsibilities:

• Analyzing drawings and specifications and reviewing scope of work
• Performing quantity take-offs and creating job-specific subcontractor and vendor lists
• Distributing plans and scopes sheets to obtain competitive pricing
• Communicating with subcontractors and vendors to obtain complete bids within required timeframes
• Communicating thoroughly with customers regarding RFI’s and clarifications
• Upon bid acceptance, attend required handoff meetings to ensure efficient and complete transfer of information
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
• Prepare work to be estimated by gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Review plans for consistency and accuracy
• Manage all levels of take-offs while applying unit prices

Applicant knowledge:

• Strong experience in Highway Lighting, Traffic Signalization, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Highway Signing and Highway Tolling estimating
• Strong background in Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Trimble, and Accubid essential

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Related Field is Preferable

• 8+ Years of Estimating Experience
• DOT experience is desired
• Proven experience bidding on projects $10M+
