Lead, Accounts Payable at University Medical Center of El Paso – El Paso, Texas

Job Summary

Provides support to the Accounts Payable Manager in analyzing the day to day processing for the Accounts Payable function and reconciliation of the General Ledger accounts for accounts payable providing analysis for any discrepancies. Serves as backup to the Manager, Accounts Payable and acts as supervisor in their absence.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

Five years of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting required, preferably in a hospital accounting setting.

License/Registration/Certification:

None

Education and Training:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Skills:

1. Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
2. Working knowledge of computer and accounting systems. Participation in systems implementation preferred.
3. Ability to utilize thorough knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
4. Ability to utilize financial analytical skills effectively.
5. Ability to apply oral and written communication skills effectively.
6. Ability to utilize organizational and management skills effectively.
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment.
8. Knowledge of Healthcare accounting and/or governmental reporting a plus.
9. Ability to support multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
