About This Position

Position title: Technical Advisor III, EurAsia Resilient Homes and Communities (Europe, Middle East & Asia)

Location: Remote, Bosnia and Herzegovina | and 4 more | (Remote)
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or other relevant field.
  • Minimum of ten years relevant international working experience in an advisory role with progressive responsibilities, ideally with an international NGO, with minimum of five years working in emergency preparedness, response and recovery programming.
  • Experience applying the principles and concepts of influence and scaling, which may include evidence translation, advocacy, communication, partnership, or others.
  • Experience and skills in networking and engaging with peer organizations, private sector actors, faith-based and civil society partners.
  • Comprehensive experience in resource mobilization and
  • Experience with program monitoring and evaluation and learning including development of learning plans, indicators, data collection tools and methodologies, data analysis, as well as data presentation.

Preferred Qualifications   

  • Masters degree preferred in International Relations, Development Studies or related field.
  • Technical and/or academic publications are highly desirable. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities    

  • Strong communications and presentation skills; ability to represent and present at high levels; able to develop tailored and persuasive messaging for varied audiences. Understanding of public-private partnership principles.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of public and private donors, including US Government (USG), non-USG entities (FCDO, World Bank, ADB, EU, UN, etc.), as well as foundations and corporations.
  • Track record of contributing to successful business development activities capturing public and/or private donor funding in humanitarian shelter and settlement programming.
  • Expert level management of risk and complexity, expert level management of people, and expert level management of resources.
  • Expert with business development, institutional strengthening and partnership building required.
  • Strong understanding and application of technical principles and concepts in humanitarian programming. Good knowledge of related disciplines to ensure proper cross-sectoral approach.

Required Languages: English;

Travel: Position is remote with expected travel up to 40%.
