Why this role exists

Most performance marketing agencies are built around channels. You hire one for paid, another for SEO, another for creative, and pretty soon nobody owns the actual outcome. The client's CAC climbs, profit compresses, and everyone's "busy." We call this Phantom Progress, and it's the problem we solve.

The Growth Strategist is how we solve it. You're the GM of a portfolio of e-commerce and DTC brands. You own the P&L. You diagnose what's actually dragging on growth, build the integrated strategy, and direct a cross-functional execution team to put it in motion. You are not a channel manager with a fancier title. You're the person the client trusts to tell them the truth and run the play.

What you'll own

A book of business. Your portfolio's revenue, retention, and profitability sit on your desk. You'll cross-sell and up-sell where it genuinely serves the client, and partner with sales on new business that fits.

The client relationship. You're the one they call. You set the strategic direction, lead the hard conversations, and make sure they understand the why behind every recommendation. We don't hide behind channel metrics here.

The strategy itself. You'll use our Marketing Scorecard and the full data stack to diagnose root causes, then build full-funnel plans that connect paid, organic, creative, lifecycle, and measurement into one system. You'll question surface metrics. You'll be skeptical of easy answers.

The execution. You'll direct our global execution team through clear briefs and tight project management. You're the quarterback. They run the routes you call.

Innovation. Patterns you spot across your portfolio shape what we productize next. The best ideas at DP come from strategists who are close to the work.

Who this is for

You've spent a few years inside performance marketing and you're ready to stop running plays and start calling them. You think in systems, you read P&Ls, and you've sat through enough status calls to know the difference between activity and progress.

You'll fit here if you are:

  • Proactive. You spot the problem and bring the solution, not the complaint. You don't need to be told to test something.
  • Inquisitive. You ask why three times before you accept the answer. Surface metrics make you suspicious, not satisfied.
  • Organized. You run a portfolio without dropping balls. Project management tools are how you keep your team and yourself honest.
  • Direct. You can tell a client their strategy is broken and have them thank you for it. You push back when something's off, and you do it with respect.
  • Relationship-driven. Clients trust you because you've earned it through real conversations, not status decks. Your team trusts you for the same reason.
  • Hungry to grow. You want to do the best work of your career, and you want to do it with people who hold the same standard.
What you get

Compensation

  • $70K–$100K base depending on experience
  • 3–8% performance bonus on base, tied to portfolio outcomes
  • 401(k) with 3.5% match (employer match unlocks at 6% employee contribution)

  • Years 0–2: DP covers 70% of individual premiums, 30% of spouse/family
    • Year 2+: DP covers 100% of individual premiums, 50% of spouse/family

  • $10,000 company-paid life insurance (voluntary additional coverage available)
  • 2 weeks fully paid leave for new parents, any gender

The pay range for this role is:
70,000 - 100,000 USD per year(Remote (United States))
