- Lead and oversee all rehabilitation services in the facility, including speech, occupational, and physical therapy, ensuring high-quality resident care.
- Ensure all therapy services (OT, PT, SLP) are delivered in compliance with scope of practice, licensure requirements, and governmental regulations.
- Manage and evaluate rehabilitation staff performance, productivity, and conduct, including assigning responsibilities and ensuring adequate staffing coverage (weekends and holidays included).
- Coordinate resident care by assigning evaluations, annual screens, and treatment plans, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and nursing staff on clinical needs, falls, and incident reviews.
- Oversee accurate service delivery and billing practices, including responsibility for Medicare Part B programming and participation in triple-check billing processes.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners (referral sources, ACOs, case managers) to support resident treatment plans and continuity of care.
- Conduct clinical rounding, participate in QAPI initiatives, and continuously evaluate and improve the quality of rehabilitation services and outcomes.
- Provide direct patient care as needed, maintain documentation, support staff education, ensure proper equipment use, and participate in meetings, training, and facility initiatives.
- Current licensure in a rehabilitation discipline (SLP, PT, OTR, COTA, or PTA) with the ability to practice within defined scope and regulatory standards in the state of MA.
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Director of Rehabilitation or in a comparable leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing rehabilitation services, Medicare billing, and long-term care practices.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to supervise staff, manage performance, and maintain productivity standards.
- Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration, case management, and communication across healthcare teams and external providers.
- Solid understanding of clinical documentation, care planning, assessments, and therapy service delivery in both short-term and long-term care settings.
- Ability to ensure compliance with infection control standards, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols in a healthcare environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage staffing, equipment needs, and multiple priorities effectively.
