This exciting opportunity as a Construction Controller focuses on overseeing financial operations, managing outsourced accounting resources, and supporting the financial health of large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects. Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial operations across development and construction accounting functions
• Produce accurate monthly financial statements, project forecasts, and cash flow projections
• Manage and collaborate with outsourced accounting teams and resources
• Handle construction accounting functions including job costing, WIP schedules, progress billing, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Support month-end and year-end close activities and ensure accurate reporting
• Utilize construction ERP systems and modern accounting software to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Work closely with executive leadership to support strategic planning and internal controls
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, operational workflows, and reporting accuracy
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company financial policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
• Direct experience working for a General Contractor with annual revenue volume between $50M$200M required
• Strong understanding of construction accounting practices including job costing and WIP reporting
• Experience with progress billing and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Highly proficient with construction accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, or Procore
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting executive finance leadership such as a VP of Finance or CFO
• Experience managing outsourced accounting teams or shared resources
• Experience within commercial or industrial construction environments
• Strong understanding of financial forecasting and cash flow management
