Job Description

About The Talent Project:The Talent Project is a female-owned and led executive search firm specializing in marketing, creative, and supply chain roles across the beauty, wellness, and longevity industries. We offer end-to-end recruitment support for full-time direct-hire positions as well as retained executive searches. With deep experience leading corporate recruitment, we operate as an extension of our clients' talent acquisition teams, ensuring a seamless and strategic hiring process.
Company Description:Our client is building a new category within consumer wellness: skin longevity. While skin health remains one of the largest segments in the industry, it is still primarily treated at the surface level. Our client is pioneering a fundamentally different approach targeting the biology of skin aging through ingestible therapeutics.
Title: Chief Marketing OfficerReports to: Founder / CEOOffice Location: Flexible / Hybrid (U.S. preferred)
Position OverviewOur client is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to build and scale its direct-to-consumer growth engine from initial traction to meaningful scale. This is a foundational leadership role responsible for defining how “skin longevity” is understood, communicated, and adopted by consumers. The CMO will sit at the intersection of science, brand, and performance—translating clinical credibility into mass-market demand and durable revenue. This role is ideal for a rare operator who has both built from zero and scaled successfully, and who is motivated by the opportunity to shape an entirely new category—not just grow an existing brand.
Key Responsibilities
Go-to-Market (0→1):
  • Define and test core positioning and messaging for the “skin longevity” category
  • Build and iterate landing pages, funnels, and conversion flows
  • Identify and validate initial acquisition channels (paid, creator-led, etc.)
  • Establish baseline CAC, CVR, and retention metrics
  • Develop initial creative strategy and content direction

Scaling (1→10):
  • Scale paid acquisition while maintaining strong unit economics
  • Build a repeatable content and creator engine
  • Expand into additional channels (SEO, partnerships, affiliates)
  • Optimize LTV through subscription models, lifecycle marketing, and bundling
  • Build and lead a high-performance marketing team

Ownership Areas:
  • DTC revenue and growth performance
  • Brand and creative strategy
  • Paid media and channel performance
  • Website and conversion funnels
  • Email/SMS and retention systems
  • Messaging, positioning, and content direction
  • Core metrics: CAC, LTV, payback period

Qualifications
  • Proven ability to build and scale a DTC brand from early traction to significant growth
  • Deep expertise across full-funnel marketing: acquisition, conversion, and retention
  • Strong brand instincts paired with analytical rigor and performance mindset
  • Experience translating complex or science-backed products into compelling consumer narratives
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-moving environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and experimentation

Required Experience
  • 10+ years in marketing, with significant experience in DTC or consumer startups
  • Demonstrated success scaling paid media and managing performance marketing at scale
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams
  • Background in beauty, wellness, health, or adjacent categories strongly preferred
  • Track record of owning revenue or growth metrics, not just marketing outputs

Please note: due to the high volume of submissions, we may not be able to respond to every applicant individually. However, if your background aligns with the opportunity, a member of our team will be in touch.
