As part of the Kito Crosby team, you will be supporting channel partners and end users around the world using Kito Crosby products in mission critical applications ranging from development of renewable power, space exploration, national defense, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.

Works under the direction of the Engineer/OPEX Manager to provide interdepartmental and shop floor technical support in areas related to the Company’s manufacturing activities. Professionally conducts assignments in the following areas, including but not limited to, productivity and process improvements, tooling and fixture design or redesign, cost reductions, etc.

Responsibilities include the establishment and maintenance of the engineering drawing libraries for all products, tooling, and fixtures; accountable for the proper creation, retention, and disposal of engineering records per the latest retention policy. The position is also responsible for the maintenance of databases associated with CNC product machining, heat treat recipes, swage die machining programs, fixture component machining programs as well as production gage prints.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential)

  1. Under the general direction of the QA/Engineering Manager.
  2. Review with team all production areas annually for non-value added activity and develop process improvement plans to eliminate the same.*
  3. Provide daily engineering service support for the manufacturing operations.*
  4. Serve as a member of the tooling/design.
  5. Travel to supplier locations to fix and/or trouble shoot problems with Company’s product line.*
  6. Coordinate with Crosby Group Engineering to maintain the database of product drawings.*
  7. Conduct meetings as appropriate to ensure product changes and new products are adequately understood by those impacted.*
  8. Participate in meetings to share information on projects, processes, plans, tooling, design, quality, safety, and other associated requirements.*
  9. Communicates with engineering personnel at Crosby Group and other locations to resolve problems on tooling, designs, dimensions, tolerance, Engineering Change Notice (ECN), Engineering Change Request (ECR), and other related issues.*
  10. Supplies technical advice and information to other departments as requested within the scope of his/her knowledge.*
  11. Assist the QA/Engineering Manager in driving change in the Crosby culture toward cross-functional teams increasing success through Operational Excellence.
  12. Assist in resolving safety issues at the plant level.
  13. Assist in the development and maintenance of ISO procedures and the plant quality book.
  14. Assist in the planning, directing, coordinating, investigating, recommending, and monitoring of engineering activities at the plant level and brief management personnel as to the status of projects, plans, and new product introductions on a periodic basis.
  15. Assist in the definition and maintenance of the plant ISO procedures and documentation. Ensure that changes to processes and product are properly reflected in the ISO system by authoring proper updates to preclude non-compliance.

Special Location/Position Requirements:

Role is On Site in Jacksonville, AR. Ability to commute from the Jacksonville/Little Rock, AR and/or wider metropolitan area is desirable. Relocation is unavailable for this role.

Job Specifications (Work Experience, Skills, Abilities, etc.)

  • 1-2 years in Manufacturing with at least 1-2 years of experience in Engineering preferred.
  • Proficient in the operation of CNC equipment, manufacturing systems, and project management.
  • CNC programming.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use precision measurement devices and knowledge of engineering drawings, blueprints and tolerances.
  • Familiar with CAD system and proficient with one AutoCAD compatible system or computer aided machining program.
  • Oral and written communication proficiency.
  • Travel is required occasionally (driving/flying).
  • Must be able to work necessary hours to accomplish or complete job/project tasks. Average work week of 45 hours, however occasional time over that may be required based on workload/projects. This is a salaried nonexempt role and O/T applies.as approved.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles typical to a manufacturing environment.

Education Requirements:

Engineering A.S. required, or equivalent. A combination of education & experience with a desire to pursue a B.S in Engineering is preferred. Kito Crosby has continuing educational support available.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

Normal office conditions. Office may be located in a multi-level office building. Job demands may require long periods of sitting, telephone work, and/or computer work, as well as interaction with other people. Normal office conditions include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, driving, and/or traveling.

Moderate exposure to shop conditions, which are variable depending on the task assigned, but are generally dirty. Is subject to shop noise. Involves extensive standing and walking. Skin and eyes are subject to drying and irritating fumes, vapors, and solutions controlled to OSHA standards. Works both in and out doors, normally indoors, with sometimes dusty or confining work areas when in the shop/lab.
