Job Description: As Operator 1, Safety is our top priority, regardless of the specific tasks you perform, ensuring you feel secure and protected in your work environment at Biomerics. As Operator 1, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, undertaking various technical applications to assemble products under rigorous process compliance. This includes completing necessary documentation and records following Good Documentation Practices at Biomerics. This direct production role demands you to engage in activities where agility and dexterity are essential for the team's success.
Requirements:Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Safety:
- Must be vigilant on worksite safety instructions and procedures. Including the proper use of required equipment and Personal Protective Equipment within the facility.
- Willing to report or recommend unsafe work conditions or practices where applicable.
- Quality:
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the Biomerics Quality System.
- Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Production Supervisor, line lead, or designee.
- Document material item numbers, lot numbers, and quantities used on device history records or reports.
- Delivery & Cost:
- Perform various production tasks as trained, including bonding, soldering, basic assembly, operational inspections, sealing, and general packaging.
Note:
(These tasks may include medical devices requiring more stringent handling or processing within a specific regulatory standard to meet the customer's requirements.)
- Must achieve optimal performance and efficiency standards set by the area supervisor.
- May be asked to assist with training other operators after establishing competency.
- Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Operator, Lead and Production Supervisor.
- Physically Locate and maintain designated inventory within the production and other general areas as necessary to improve inventory accuracy and minimize waste.
- Participate in area improvement projects when assigned by area supervisor or designee as applicable.
- Maintain excellent attendance and be ready to pitch in with extra hours when necessary to meet the company's needs.
- Recognizes malfunctioning machinery/ equipment. Requests assistance from Lead, Supervisor or Technician
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Learns and participates in Lean Manufacturing activities including sharing improvement ideas with leadership.
- Able to communicate effectively with work group
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the Biomerics Quality System and Safety procedures.

Job Qualifications:?
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.
- Basic level competence to complete paperwork accurately in English.
- A strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience as an operator or assembler within any manufacturing is preferred but not required.
- The ability to operate or set up testing software is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read numerous measurement devices for inspection of parts (ie; calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, scales, etc.…)
- Heightened safety awareness is essential.
- Stamina to stand and walk within the facility for prolonged periods.
- Capable of multitasking and constantly being on the move throughout the workday.
- The strength to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques is required
- Aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to do repetitive work, requiring strong dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to pass background screen.
