About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities within the organization. This position is responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and executing timely repairs to minimize downtime. The Maintenance Technician collaborates closely with production teams to support manufacturing processes and maintain safety standards. By proactively maintaining equipment and identifying potential problems, this role helps to optimize productivity and extend the lifespan of machinery. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to the overall success of the manufacturing operation by ensuring a reliable and safe working environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards in manufacturing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Collaborate with production staff to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance equipment reliability.

Skills:

The Maintenance Technician utilizes mechanical and electrical skills daily to diagnose and repair equipment issues, ensuring minimal production downtime. Proficiency in reading technical documents and schematics enables accurate troubleshooting and maintenance execution. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with production teams and reporting maintenance activities clearly. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems helps in tracking work orders and managing parts inventory efficiently.
