Job Summary:

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant work environment at a repair and refurbishment facility. This role ensures site operations align with OSHA, local regulations, corporate, and specific safety requirements through proactive risk assessment, employee training, and rigorous incident management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor day-to-day operations through regular inspections to ensure the facility meets OSHA, local, and company EHS regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards and provide solutions to mitigate risks and ensure the proper use of PPE.
  • Maintain all EHS-related records, including safety logs, incident reports, and relevant documentation. Prepare reports for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate incident reporting and lead Root Cause Analysis for accidents. Drive the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in or organize safety meetings to promote a proactive safety culture and align site activities with company goals.
  • Facilitate EHS training programs, such as safety orientation for new hires, specialized equipment training, and emergency response drills.
  • Support the site during inspections and audits. Ensure all required safety permits, certifications, and supplies are up to date and sufficient.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for emergencies, ensuring first aid supplies are stocked, and evacuation plans are communicated and tested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Master’s degree is a plus

Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in the EHS-related field.
  • Strong Knowledge of OSHA regulations is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 10/30-hour card is a plus.
  • Experience in managing forklift safety training and certification programs is a plus.
  • Train-the-Trainer certification is a plus.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating industrial environments.
  • Proficient with power tools, hand tools, and multi-meters.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to distinguish wire colors and read technical labels.
  • Comfortable working on ladders or in confined spaces.
  • Work performed in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
