Position: Payroll & HR Specialist
Location: Wilsonville, Oregon
Schedule: Full-time position (40 weekly contract hours)
Classification: Non-exempt position, eligible for overtime pay
Pay Range: $28.00 – $33.00 per hour
Cell Phone Stipend: $50/month or $600/year
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Payroll & HR Specialist, your primary focus is ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time while supporting the day-to-day operations of Human Resources. This role blends consistent payroll responsibilities with a variety of HR coordination and administrative tasks—giving you both structure and variety in your day.
Core Responsibilities – Payroll & HR Specialist
- Process semi-monthly payroll with accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and audit payroll data including timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and taxes.
- Maintain payroll records including new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
- Administer garnishments, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Generate payroll reports for internal use and compliance.
- Support year-end payroll processes including W-2 preparation.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system.
- Respond to employee payroll and HR-related questions.
Additional Responsibilities That Keep Things Interesting
- Support performance management processes by tracking review cycles and system updates.
- Assist with compensation tracking and maintaining accurate pay data.
- Help coordinate benefits-related payroll deductions and updates.
- Maintain organized and confidential employee records and documentation.
- Support company-wide HR programs such as surveys, policy acknowledgements, and communications.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and special projects.
- Help maintain and improve payroll and HR procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed.
What You Bring
- At least 1 year of payroll processing experience.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paylocity preferred).

Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, twisting, and talking. Employees must regularly use repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and fingers to handle documents and operate office equipment. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs or stepstools, and pushing or pulling may be required. The ability to remain focused and effective during periods of high stress is essential.
