Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator
Location: 65 Miles outside of Elko, Nevada
Shift: 14-days on / 14-days off rotation
The Opportunity:
Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at a project location 65 miles outside of Elko, Nevada.
The HR Coordinator is responsible for delivering consistent, on-the-ground human resources support at the mine site and ensuring the smooth execution of daily HR operations. As an HR Coordinator, you will be the go-to resource for all site-level HR matters, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, benefits enrollment, training logistics, and employee support. This role serves as a key point of contact for site employees and supervisors. This is a hands-on, service-driven role that requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and comfort working in both office and field environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including posting jobs, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews
- Generate offer letters and facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation sessions, and ensure accurate completion of required documentation
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and general inquiries
- Support training coordination and tracking for site-based employees
- Maintain employee records, update HRIS data, and ensure compliance with documentation standards
- Address employee questions and concerns, escalating as appropriate to the regional HR team
- Track attendance, assist with timekeeping and payroll data coordination
- Provide logistical and documentation support for site-level investigations or disciplinary processes
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures in alignment with federal, state (Nevada), and company requirements
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned by site, regional and functional leadership
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role, ideally in mining, construction, or a remote, field-based environment
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field preferred but not required. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) or relevant HR coursework, certifications, or diploma preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience of in-depth usage of HRIS, ADP and SuccessFactors preferred but not required.
- Additional training in employment law or workplace investigations preferred
- Strong Familiarity with HRIS platforms and payroll/timekeeping systems (preferred)
- General understanding of employment laws (Nevada-specific preferred) and HR best practices
- Experience coordinating between several departments and levels of the organization
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on service and support
- High level of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Proven ability to stay organized, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities
- Familiarity with employee data management practices
- Exceptional ability to navigate and utilize HRIS systems and multiple computer platforms, including advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Comfortable working independently with limited supervision in a dynamic environment
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly and work 12-hour days while on-site
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote mine sites (required)
Work Conditions:
- Ability to walk, stand, and navigate uneven terrain at the mine site, including occasional access to underground operations
- Ability to do shift camp work on a rotational basis, the rotations are 2 weeks on site (minimum 12-hour days), followed by 2 weeks off – working statutory holidays as they fall within the rotation
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods in an office setting
- Manual dexterity required for frequent use of keyboard, computer, and phone
- Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language clearly and effectively
- Visual acuity to see clearly, including the ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection
- Physically able to travel to and from remote mine locations on a scheduled basis
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and any ongoing fitness-for-duty assessments as required
