The Abeel Firm PLLC is hiring a litigation-focused divorce and family law attorney to handle contested family law matters from intake through resolution. We are looking for a confident, disciplined attorney who can manage cases proactively, perform strongly in court, and help clients navigate difficult transitions with calm judgment and professionalism.

Compensation:

$135,000 - $150,000 base salary DOE + performance-based bonus

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage contested family law cases from initial consultation through resolution, ensuring each client feels supported and informed.
  • Develop and execute strategic litigation plans that align with our firm's commitment to professionalism and client impact.
  • Represent clients in court with confidence and clarity, advocating for their best interests with preparation and credibility.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine case strategies, share insights, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing updates and guidance to help them navigate complex legal processes.
  • Draft, review, and finalize legal documents with precision, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
  • Participate in firm meetings and contribute to the development of best practices that enhance our service delivery and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • Active New York State law license.
  • 4–8 years of divorce and family law litigation experience preferred; 3–4+ years minimum required.
  • Experience handling contested family law matters from intake through resolution.
  • Strong courtroom presence, including motion practice, hearings, depositions, and negotiations.
  • Excellent legal writing, drafting, research, and strategic judgment.
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing a full caseload with urgency and professionalism.
  • Emotionally mature and calm under pressure, with the judgment to avoid unnecessary escalation and the confidence to advocate strongly when needed.
