About the Opportunity

The BRG team is growing and needs a strong project manager with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven ability to thrive in ambiguity. The Operations Coordinator will help execute and oversee specific administrative and business functions including, but not limited to: campus recruiting; the summer associate program; recurring staff training; marketing; and other core operations functions. The Operations Coordinator will work alongside other Operations staff to provide general management support and assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives identified by leadership. The Operations Coordinator will report to the leadership team and other Consulting Directors.

This position requires someone with strong organizational, administrative, problem solving, and communication skills. It requires a self-motivated and adaptable individual who will be tasked with multiple concurrent priorities necessitating communication and coordination with many stakeholders. Exemplar responsibilities are described below.

• General Management:

  • Provide administrative support to senior leaders.
  • Ad hoc project management to assist with strategic practice development, such as coordinating/assisting in budgeting processes.
  • Planning and executing special events such as practice retreats and events, client dinners, holiday gifts, etc.
  • Regular communication with corporate and other counterparts, including, but not limited to: HR and personnel management, office operations and management teams, and learning and development specialists.

• Campus Recruiting:

  • Manage execution of campus recruiting roadmap to recruit 35+ full time new hires and 35+ summer associates annually across multiple offices with responsibilities focused on coordination, logistics, and administrative support (rather than traditional recruiter duties).
  • Accurately track thousands of candidates throughout the recruiting process.
  • Execute administrative aspects of on-campus activities.

• Summer Associate Program:

  • Help manage summer associate program of 35+ individuals across multiple offices.
  • Develop training and programming with senior leaders.
  • Serve as the liaison for summer associates across multiple offices.
  • Manage relevant budget and coordinate with office-specific staff to plan summer associate events.
  • Act as a liaison between HR and summer associates for onboarding, training programs, offboarding, conversion offers.
  • Assist consulting staff with tracking and identifying staffing opportunities for the summer associates.

• Continuous staff training and development

  • Coordinate regular training events and seminars for consulting staff to attend.
  • Work with senior leaders to help facilitate core evaluation functions, including year-end review process and regular staff calibration.
  • Assist senior leaders in tracking staff utilization and identifying staffing opportunities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a prior consultant at a professional services firm. Although this is an operations role, the ideal candidate would be willing and able to learn the consulting side of the business to understand how their impact can be maximized.

Specific skills and experience should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior work experience, preferably in a professional services role
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with an ability to think critically and be a creative problem solver, work independently, and proactively seek guidance when appropriate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a confident and clear communication style
  • Ability to coordinate schedules and concurrently correspond with numerous stakeholders
  • Aptitude to develop insights and recommendations to business problems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands and learn quickly
  • Ability to proactively address foreseeable problems and approach issues pragmatically
  • Mature presence, empathy, and intellectual curiosity
  • Demonstrate strong project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Handle sensitive information and preserve its confidentiality
  • Strong understanding of managing relationships and developing solution-based proposals in a professional services environment
  • Expert working knowledge and significant professional experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of AI tools and interest in developing automation of internal administrative processes with AI where relevant
  • Be flexible and willing to work after hours when necessary
  • Experience with travel planning & logistics
  • Willingness to travel to other BRG offices on occasion

This position is based in BRG’s Washington, DC; New York, NY; or Boston, MA office working with colleagues in the office three to four days a week, on average.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000

Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
