FT Faculty, Nursing at South Suburban College – South Holland, Illinois

Responsible for assisting nursing students, using supplemental instruction, and programming, to develop cognitive and career-readiness skills that prepare students to successfully complete the Nursing Program and pass the NCLEX-RN. This position works with students to identify their strengths, learning styles, and areas requiring further development, and to develop and implement remediation plans as needed.

• Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN/MS) from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years of current clinical experience
• Must possess current and active Illinois and Indiana Registered license(RN) licenses in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
• Evidence of ongoing continuing nursing education, particularly in the area of clinical expertise.
• Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings and college activities.
• Commitment to classroom instruction, laboratory instruction, and clinical supervision of students.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fundamentals and/or medical -surgical experience preferred.
• Previous teaching experience in a nursing program preferred.

STATUS/SALARY:
This is a regular full-time faculty position. Salary will be determined based on placement within the faculty salary schedule and is commensurate with education and experience.

Courses may be offered during daytime, evening, and weekend hours as needed
