We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Buyer to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for managing and direct all Purchasing activities to support the purchase of materials and services required to support Manufacturing and Engineering efforts in both the Stamping and Insert Molding Divisions of the Company, as well as related ancillary operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and monitor the purchase of materials to support Manufacturing, Tooling, Engineering and Sales departments within the Company to ensure all corporate goals are met.
  • Plan and manage the complete cycle of supplier management, including identification of new sources, validation of new suppliers and ongoing performance management.
  • Analyze supplier base and implement risk mitigation plan for critical items.
  • Drive cost reduction/continuous improvement projects to meet or improve standard cost targets, purchase price variance goals, inventory levels and turns and quality targets.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and terms for mutual advantage, document agreements and monitor performance.
  • Interact with all departments to ensure that the product requirements and quality criteria are maintained on all purchased products.
  • Maintain good communication with suppliers and internal customers to assure timely delivery of orders. Resolve delivery and/or quality issues through problem solving and supplier performance improvements.
  • Maintain supplier related records in business system, including creating PO’s. maintaining history files, item master planning parameters, pricing, quotes and performance statistics to ensure the business system contains
Requirements:
  • BA in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years purchasing and inventory experience.
  • Experience in the purchasing of raw metals including specialty alloys.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with MRP systems.
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a driven self-starter that works with little supervision.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Must be a Team player and have the ability to interact effectively with all departments within the Company.
  • Experience working in an environment having a registered quality system is a plus.
