Performs and interprets routine and complex assays on blood,

Prepares blood/blood components for transfusion to a patient,

Performs blood types and antibodies identification as well as blood group antigens and compatibility,

Performs all related documentation tasks,

Participates in evaluating, documenting and implementation of technical assays,

Section III Job Qualifications

Education Training Certification Licensure

Meets education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services CMS and New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services laws,

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology BSMT, Associates Degree of Science AAS or equivalent including clinical rotations,

Certified by Category I Agency American Society of Clinical Pathologist, National Certification Agency,

Successful completion of all orientations
