Section II: Summary of Job Function

Is responsible for the sleep center operations during their shift, such as answering the phones and any other pertinent clerical duties,

Performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and monitors physiological phenomena throughout such procedures,

Performs any procedure within their scope of practice, such as multiple sleep latency testing, maintenance of wakefulness studies, archiving patient studies and documentation of any issues regarding equipment, supplies, and patient incidents,

Participates and is instrumental in new employee orientation,

If qualified, you can perform scoring under the discretion of the Sleep Center Manager/ Coordinator,

Technician must obtain Registered Polysomnography Technologist license within 12 months of hire,

Section III: Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure

Graduate of sleep study program from A-Step

New Jersey Polysomnographic technician license required,

Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered EEG Technician with Sleep experience,

BLS or CPR Certification required,

The Sleep Technician must work under direct supervision of a Registered sleep technologist,
