Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Supervisor Processing is responsible for overseeing daily processing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective ore processing. This role leads frontline supervisors and operating crews to meet production targets, concentrate grade, quality, and cost objectives while maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
This position has direct responsibility for planning, staffing, and coordinating processing activities, as well as developing team capability and ensuring operational data and reporting are accurate and timely. The role works closely with operations leadership and cross-functional departments to align production plans and resolve operational issues.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all employees and contractors comply with site safety standards, MSHA regulations, and company policies. Maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and company requirements, including the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Operational Leadership: Direct and supervise processing activities to achieve production targets, concentrate grade, quality, and cost objectives. Set clear expectations and monitor performance against KPIs.
Workforce Management: Build and maintain an effective team through recruitment, training, and development. Ensure employees are properly trained and certified for assigned tasks.
Training & Development: Coordinate with the Training Coordinator to deliver required training programs aligned with current and future operational needs. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Planning & Resource Allocation: Develop and execute work plans, allocate manpower and equipment, and ensure resources are in place to meet operational and budget targets.
Budget & Cost Control: Provide input into departmental budgets and manage resources to achieve planned activities within approved cost targets.
Reporting & Data Management: Ensure accurate capture of operational data and support the development of daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to processes, systems, and equipment to enhance operational performance and efficiency.
Maintenance Coordination: Work closely with Processing Maintenance to identify and resolve equipment issues. Ensure maintenance plans and schedules align with production requirements, including short- and long-term planning.
Equipment Reliability: Ensure equipment is operated and maintained in a manner that supports reliability and availability.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments including Processing, SXEW, Metallurgy, Planning, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSEC to support operational goals.
Leadership Support: Provide guidance and input to Processing Operations leadership on planning, performance, and improvement initiatives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required
• Minimum 4 years of experience in an operational leadership role (e.g., Supervisor, General Foreman, Senior Supervisor)
• Strong working knowledge of processing operations, including crushing, screening, milling, conveying systems, flotation circuits (copper and moly), thickeners, pumping systems, and filtration
• Ability to lead teams and provide performance feedback to both hourly and salaried employees
• Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple departments
• Intermediate computer skills
• Effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License
• Experience working in mining or other heavy industrial environments
• Experience with SAP
• Experience with PI / PI Vision systems
• Additional technical or processing-related training

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Work performed in processing plant and tailings areas
• Exposure to dust; respirator fit required
• Exposure to restricted areas including molybdenum plant (NaHS)
• Combination of field-based supervision and administrative duties
• Walking on uneven surfaces and working around operating equipment
• May require climbing stairs and accessing elevated work areas

All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check. All positions require a pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit for duty’. Additional training and/or testing may be required.
