Position Summary:
The Territory Account Executive (TAE) uses deep product and market knowledge to own the full sales cycle for mid-sized or moderately complex accounts—from qualified opportunity through negotiation, contracting, and close. TheTAE acquires new accounts, grows penetration within existing ones, and strengthens customer relationships to build a pipeline that will meet and exceed quota
As a core revenue-generating individual contributor role, the TAE works independently, manages a solid pipeline of mid-market deals, and mentors Sales Support Executives—partnering closely with Inside Sales, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Product Management, Services, and Marketing to balance excellent service with business growth.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete sales cycle from discovery to close for a mid-market territory, acquisition/development/retention accounts, and "unmanaged" reseller partners
- Develop and execute account/territory strategy to hit quarterly and annual quota, including identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
- Conduct in-person customer and prospect meetings across the territory, with regular travel required to support account development and relationship management
- Make day-to-day deal decisions independently (pricing within approved bands), escalating exceptions and coordinating with legal/finance on contract terms as needed
- Maintain strong territory awareness, including knowledge of key verticals: healthcare systems, industry/corporate accounts, K-12 and higher ed, state/local/federal government, and resellers/integrators including baseline knowledge of competitors and their offerings
- Conduct product demonstrations and tailor value propositions to client needs
- Participate in new product/service opportunity calls, product launch discussions, and quarterly business reviews with established accounts
- Forecast accurately and maintain disciplined CRM hygiene (Salesforce and other required systems) to support pipeline reviews and ensure customer data is well documented
- Collaborate with Inside Sales, Sales, Customer Service, , Engineering, Product management, Services, and Marketing on innovation, sales approach, deal support, and handoff
- Mentor and provide informal coaching to Sales Support Executives
- Support site-specific QMS initiatives for continuous process improvement
- Perform additional duties as requested
Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):
- 3–6 years of quota-carrying sales experience with a track record of quota attainment
- Proven ability to manage a full, sometimes multi-stakeholder sales cycle independently
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and consultative-selling skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Travel within assigned territory as needed to meet with customers, prospects, and partners, attend trade shows or attend meetings at the Eagan office
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Oracle and Salesforce
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position
