Job Summary

Performs screenings, collects data and contributes to the care plan under the direction of a Registered Nurse. May assist with a variety of patient care activities and interventions to inmates within the confines of a jail or detention facility.

Minimum Job Requirements

Work Experience

One year of experience as an LVN preferred.

License/Registration/Certification

Current license as a LVN in the state of Texas required.

Current CPR

Education and Training

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of a vocational nurse program required.

Skills 1. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.

1. Possesses effective interviewing and data collection techniques.
2. Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
3. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
4. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
5. Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
