This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Cloud Native Applications based in Canada.
This is a senior leadership role at the intersection of cloud engineering, application modernization, and AI-enabled software delivery. You will shape the technical vision and delivery strategy for large-scale cloud-native and AI-driven solutions across diverse enterprise clients. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, guiding multidisciplinary teams of engineers, architects, and consultants. You will play a key role in defining modern engineering standards, accelerating AWS-based transformation programs, and embedding AI into delivery practices. Operating in a fast-paced consulting environment, you will influence both client outcomes and internal capability building. This is a high-impact position focused on scaling innovation, delivery excellence, and engineering maturity across complex engagements.
- Define and drive the strategic vision for cloud-native application development, AI, and ML practices, ensuring alignment with business goals, AWS best practices, and emerging industry trends.
- Establish and continuously improve modern engineering frameworks, architectural standards, DevOps practices, and delivery methodologies for scalable cloud-native and AI-enabled systems.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a large multidisciplinary organization of engineers, architects, and consultants, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and AI-first delivery.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex client engagements, ensuring high-quality outcomes, strong customer satisfaction, and efficient execution using modern cloud and AI tools.
- Partner with AWS and other strategic technology providers to leverage new services, co-innovation opportunities, and partner ecosystems to enhance solution offerings.
- Support business growth through pre-sales engagement, solution design, and alignment of technical capabilities with customer needs and revenue opportunities.
- Champion innovation and thought leadership by staying ahead of trends in cloud-native development, DevOps, and AI/ML, while representing the organization in industry events and client forums.
- Drive the adoption of AI-powered tools and practices to improve engineering productivity, delivery speed, and solution quality across internal teams and client projects.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering and cloud technologies, including at least 5 years in senior leadership or organizational management roles.
- Proven track record of leading and scaling large engineering or consulting organizations (ideally 50+ team members or complex delivery units).
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture, cloud-native application design, and modern software engineering practices.
- Deep experience in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and CI/CD pipeline implementation at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver large, multi-million-dollar enterprise software or transformation programs.
- Strong background in stakeholder management, with the ability to influence executives, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in client-facing consulting or professional services environments with enterprise customers across multiple industries.
- Hands-on experience with AI-enabled software solutions and a strong interest in applying emerging technologies to improve delivery outcomes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- AWS certifications and experience in product or SaaS environments are considered strong assets.

- Base salary range: $207,000 – $272,000 CAD annually, with additional bonus, equity, and incentive opportunities depending on performance and role scope
