POSITION SUMMARY

Contributes to the efficient daily operation of the Shoshone Bannock Hotel Security activities by ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Shoshone Bannock Casino Hotel. Maintains professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports any irregularities, damages, tampering, vandalism, or suspicious activities of team members, guests, vehicles, property belonging to Shoshone- Bannock Casino Hotel, including other equipment and items entrusted to the Casino Hotel.
  • Utilizes communication systems, including but not limited to phones and radios.
  • Safeguards all Gaming and Hotel equipment and property.
  • Generates electronic and/or written reports as necessary regarding security-related incidents involving guests, team members, facility, and property.
  • Escorts guests and team members, when assigned or as needed.
  • Observes guest and team members, while posted or on patrol.
  • Patrols property to identify potential safety hazards; prepares written reports to the appropriate individual, for proper resolution.
  • Becomes familiar with hazardous materials used on property, and all Safety Data Sheets/Material Safety Data Sheets associated with chemicals.
  • Coordinates situations with casino security team members or emergency personnel; informs outside agencies of any unusual or suspicious situations on property when directed.
  • Operates Casino Hotel vehicles and may be called upon to assist with local transport for special events. May perform bicycle patrol as assigned.
  • Interacts with guests and team members in a positive and professional manner.
  • Investigates, revisits, and tracks Casino and Hotel related illegal incidents occurring on property, including RV Park.
  • Patrols parking lots and works special events to mitigate illegal activity on property.
  • Attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings and training courses.
  • Accesses locked areas or equipment as necessary.
  • Maintains order at public gatherings and events on hotel property.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all information processed through the department, including records, reports, documents, conversations, etc.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

  • Goals, objectives, functions, policies, and procedures of Shoshone Bannock Casino Hotel.
  • Applicable to federal, state, tribal, and gaming laws, regulations, requirements, and principles.
  • Department organization, functions, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Safety operations and procedures, safety methods and practices, and public/customer service skills in a casino environment.
  • Use and workings of security systems, cameras, and alarm systems.
  • File and records management
  • Intergovernmental, community, and public relationships with tribal, county, and state law enforcement agencies.
  • Customer service standards that build customer loyalty, satisfaction, and ultimately bring success to the Shoshone Bannock Casino Hotel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • One (1) year of security, hospitality, or law enforcement experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below.
  • Tribal and Native American preference shall apply to all positions.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to submit supporting documentation of education and training to support qualifications.
  • Must be able to obtain FEMA, IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command certificate.
  • Must obtain and maintain an Idaho driver's license and qualify for fleet management and insurance coverage on company vehicles.
  • Medical certification and/or physical assessment every 12 months to ensure ability to perform physical demands.
  • Must obtain CPR/AED and TIPS certification during introductory period
  • Bicycle patrol training certificate


Background Investigation Requirements

  • Pre-employment drug screen.
  • Personal reference check and employment verification.
  • Federal, state, and/or tribal criminal history and sanction checks including fingerprint verification.
  • Has not been found guilty of, charged with, received a deferred sentence


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, touch, or grasp; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use a computer and cellphone/telephone; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may regularly be exposed to hazardous materials, dust, fumes, airborne particles, allergens, and/or second-hand smoke; and hostile, offensive, or violent individuals. Work may occasionally take place near hazardous / moving equipment and / or machinery and require the use of protective clothing, equipment, devices, and / or materials. Incumbent must be able to operate a bicycle or Casino-owned vehicle to conduct work.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is generally performed in an office or casino/hotel environment with a moderate to high noise level. Due to the Shoshone Bannock Casino/Hotel being a 24-hour business evening and/or weekend, work will be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Travel is required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.
