The Ukrop's Assistant Professor of Marketing is a full-time faculty position responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate marketing courses, engaging in scholarly and professional activities, advising students, and contributing to the academic mission of the University. Named in recognition of the partnership and support of the Ukrop's family and business legacy, this position emphasizes excellence in teaching, experiential learning, community engagement, entrepreneurship, and industry collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing and related business disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain course syllabus, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials.
  • Utilize innovative instructional methods, technology, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Deliver instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments.
  • Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
  • Advise and mentor students regarding academic planning, internships, career opportunities, and professional development.
  • Support student organizations, competitions, and experiential learning projects.
  • Assist students in securing internships and industry experiences.
  • Promote student engagement, retention, and academic achievement.
  • Engage in scholarly research, publications, presentations, and creative activities consistent with university expectations.
  • Maintain professional expertise through continuing education and industry engagement.
  • Participate in professional associations related to marketing and business education.
  • Pursue grants, partnerships, and external funding opportunities when appropriate.
  • Participate in curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with accreditation activities and program reviews.
  • Develop innovative programs and initiatives that support workforce readiness and business leadership.
  • Ensure curriculum remains aligned with industry trends and employer needs.
  • Establish partnerships with businesses, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with regional business leaders to provide experiential learning opportunities.
  • Promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Represent the University at professional conferences, workshops, and community events.
  • Support the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the University.

Education

  • Preference to Doctoral degree in Marketing or equivalent with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Marketing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles, consumer behavior, and contemporary marketing practices.
  • Teaching experience in higher education, corporate training, or related environments.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
