Summary/Objective

The Cal Micro Recycling, Class A commercial driver is responsible for ensuring the transport of company and customer cargo to Cal Micro facilities. The driver is responsible for the loading, securing, transporting, and delivery of cargo safely and efficiently. The driver is also responsible for ensuring that the company vehicle assigned to the employee is maintained in roadworthy condition and that he/she obeys all applicable vehicle laws in the state of California.

Daily Responsibilities

· Check the truck daily for any leaks or potential problems.

· Check daily bins for pick-up assignments. All must be approved by a manager before pick up or delivery can be done.

· Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to DMV and CA Highway Patrol.

· Follow all Shipping and Delivery Company procedures

· End of day. Lock up the truck and return the keys to the lockbox.

· Ensure assigned trucking equipment is kept clean and orderly

Driver Responsibilities

• Be responsible for various paperwork
• Conducts daily vehicle safety inspections, preventative and general light maintenance
• Keeps all DOT and company-regulated logs
• Provides courteous customer service
• Have a good DMV record
• The ability to speak, read, and write English
• Positive attitude, good people skills, and motivation for job efficiency.

Physical Requirements

• The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Operate a motor vehicle
• The employee must be able to lift and move up to 60 pounds
• Load/unload product using a pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements:

• Current Class A Commercial license
• Must have recent H6 (K4) from DMV

Starting Pay: $28.00 per hour

Performance Bonus of $2,000 after 6 months of satisfactory performance.
