Strategic Planning & Operations Sr Mgr

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategic Planning & Operations Sr Mgr based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape strategic direction and operational excellence within a global, technology-driven organization.
You will partner with senior leaders to translate business priorities into actionable plans, measurable outcomes, and long-term impact.
The position combines strategic planning, organizational leadership, executive communication, and operational management.
You will help drive transformation initiatives across digital products, AI-enabled capabilities, and enterprise technology programs.

Accountabilities:

The Strategic Planning & Operations Senior Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, driving strategic initiatives, operational effectiveness, and organizational alignment. This role requires the ability to connect strategy with execution, manage complex priorities, and establish operating frameworks that enable business growth and innovation.

  • Partner with senior executives to translate strategic priorities into measurable objectives, operating plans, milestones, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.
  • Provide strategic and operational support to leadership teams, ensuring effective execution of business strategies and key initiatives.
  • Serve as a thought partner on portfolio decisions, organizational priorities, investment planning, and capability development.
  • Manage annual operating rhythms, including leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, executive reviews, and organizational updates.
  • Act as a central point of coordination across teams, ensuring alignment, visibility, and progress tracking for high-priority initiatives.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness efforts, including operating model improvements, change management initiatives, talent strategies, and capability-building programs.
  • Develop and implement processes, tools, and ways of working that improve transparency, collaboration, accountability, and execution.
  • Coordinate business operations activities, including budgeting, resource planning, workforce planning, and scenario analysis.
  • Support talent management processes such as hiring strategies, promotions, organizational planning, and workforce initiatives.
  • Create executive-level communications, presentations, governance materials, portfolio reviews, and leadership updates.
  • Lead communication strategies, including newsletters, events, internal updates, and engagement initiatives.
  • Support technology, AI, and digital transformation initiatives by helping teams execute strategic priorities effectively.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a strategic operations leader with experience supporting executive teams, managing complex initiatives, and driving organizational transformation. This professional should combine strong analytical skills, business judgment, communication expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.

  • Doctorate degree with 2+ years of experience in strategic planning, business operations, consulting, or related fields.
  • OR Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • MBA or advanced degree in strategy, management, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience working within life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare, technology, AI, or data-driven organizations is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and convert business priorities into measurable execution plans.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience creating executive presentations, leadership communications, business reviews, and strategic materials.
  • Strong organizational effectiveness, change management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, build relationships, and navigate complex organizational environments.
  • High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and comfort managing competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and creative approach to business challenges.
