Job Description

Director of Human Resources

We are seeking a collaborative, strategic Director of Human Resources to lead the full HR function, including workforce planning, talent acquisition and development, employee engagement, compliance, employee relations, compensation, benefits, payroll, and training. The ideal candidate is a trusted business partner who can build consensus, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and translate business goals into practical people strategies.

This is an in-person position located in New Jersey.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead human resources strategy, planning, policies, procedures, and operations in alignment with short- and long-term organizational goals.
  • Oversee training and development, including new employee orientation, on-the-job training, refresher training, individual instruction, workshops, training materials, progress tracking, and program evaluation.
  • Manage recruiting and selection activities to identify critical skill needs and maintain appropriate staffing levels across management, professional, technical, and support roles.
  • Administer compensation programs, job descriptions, performance management processes, exit interviews, stay interviews, personnel records, and required reporting.
  • Promote departmental projects and allocate financial and talent resources appropriately.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and FLSA, and maintain current procedures.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, advise employees on eligibility, complete required reports, evaluate vendors, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure performance objectives align with essential job functions and organizational goals, and that managers provide timely feedback and complete reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable financial-services regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements.
  • What You’ll Bring
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a broad human resources function and partner effectively with senior management.
  • Strong knowledge of talent acquisition, employee relations, training, performance management, compensation, benefits, payroll, employment compliance, and recordkeeping.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, communication, organization, and consensus-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • SPHR certification preferred.

  • Work Environment and Physical Requirements

    This position primarily performs sedentary work in a climate-controlled office with minimal noise. It requires regular use of standard office equipment and a computer for approximately six to eight hours per day when necessary, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds, the ability to use stairs in an emergency, and travel by automobile, commercial airline, rental vehicle, or public transportation. Extended hours may be required. Regular, reliable, and timely attendance is essential.
