Job Description

We are seeking an ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER reporting to our Lancaster, PA project site.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is responsible for supporting the effective planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
This position may require periodic travel or relocation based on project needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion Safety Culture. Lead by example in upholding safety standards and actively support implementation of best practices across field and office environments, reinforcing expectations set by Project Management leadership.
Project Coordination and Execution Support. Assist in the successful delivery of assigned projects by coordinating day-to-day activities related to scope execution, schedule adherence, cost tracking, and issue resolution, while escalating critical items to Project Managers.
Schedule and Cost Tracking. Support project leadership in the development, monitoring, and updating of project schedules, budgets, and job cost reports to identify variances and communicate project impacts.
Document and Information Management. Maintain strict adherence to project document control processes, ensuring all drawings, specifications, logs, and records are accurate, current, and compliant with company standards.
Manage Submittals, RFIs, and Change Documentation. Process submittals and RFI responses to support fabrication and field production activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.
Procurement and Resource Coordination. Assist with purchase orders, subcontract coordination, material tracking, and delivery logistics to support efficient project execution.
Construction and Field Support. Interface with field teams to support planning, execution, and problem-solving while ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Change and Risk Support. Support the identification, documentation, and tracking of changes, risks, and delays, assisting with mitigation strategies and change order development.
Financial Process Support. Assist with invoice review, cost tracking, forecasting inputs, and financial reporting to ensure alignment with project budgets and profitability goals.
Client and Stakeholder Coordination. Maintain professional communication with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, supporting the Project Manager in ensuring responsiveness and transparency.
Meeting and Communication Management. Lead or support project meetings, prepare agendas, document meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up.
Project Closeout Support. Assist in managing project closeout activities, including documentation, punch list coordination, and turnover requirements.
Team Development and Leadership Growth. Begin taking on leadership responsibilities by mentoring Project Engineers and supporting team coordination, while continuing to develop management and decision-making skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with standard construction management applications. Accubid Anywhere, Vista, Bluebeam, Project Site, Procore, Plangrid, Building Connected, Trimble Materials, Navisworks, and other related construction applications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a technical college degree with 3-5 years in a related discipline preferred.
- Some relevant experience, 3-5 years in a multi-trade construction environment, preferred but not required.
- Excellent written communication skills. Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to type.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individuals.
- Works efficiently under tight timeframes, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player.
- Understands the importance of being able to multi-task.
