Job Description
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Operates press brake machines to bend and form metals to meet customer specification.
Required Schedule: Monday-Thursday 3pm-1am
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Confers with Press brake Set-up person regarding how job is to be run and what dimensions to maintain.
- Performs back gauge calibration and resets counters.
- Runs first piece and takes to inspection or certified operator for approval.
- After 1st piece approval adjust machines if necessary, seeking assistance from Set-up Person when needed, and runs job.
- Using measuring equipment, checks specified dimensions on parts and plots them on SPC charts to track quality of product and process.
- Fills out all required production paperwork and records.
- Maintains work area in clean and safe condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Requires minimum of 6 months to 2 years press brake experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to read complex blueprints and perform complex mathematical calculations.
- Advanced knowledge of press brake and use basic quality inspection equipment including calipers, protractors, and micrometers. Ability to follow instructions, read, and write.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift Monday-Thursday 3pm-1am
Working Conditions
- Constant exposure to one or more elements typically found in a manufacturing setting such as noise, dust, heat, fumes or dirt, which may not be desirable. Exposure to noise requires the use of hearing protection.
Supervision
- None
Decision-Making / Confidentiality
- Requires continuous mental / visual application. Little or no independent judgment and decision making within Company policies to resolve operational problems and to determine manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Limited exposure to confidential data such as product design information and work center rates.
