Job Description

Position Summary

Engle Printing & Publishing Co., Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Pressroom Production Associate to support press operations during our 1st shift. This position plays an important role in ensuring printed products are packed, stacked, and prepared according to customer specifications while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review Job Information Sheets to ensure correct packing and stacking requirements are followed.
  • Set up stacking equipment according to job specifications, including preparing skids, gaylords, cartons, and related materials.
  • Assist with press makeready activities and perform support tasks during downtime.
  • Monitor stacker performance and address minor issues to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Stack and prepare printed products according to required patterns and specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Use supplies efficiently and support departmental cost-control efforts.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout requirements, hearing protection, and proper handling of chemicals and materials.
  • Participate in departmental improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, production, or printing experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing throughout the shift.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for handling products and materials.
  • Occasional walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift 10–25 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to push and pull carts, pallet jacks, and other production materials as needed.

Work Environment

  • Climate-controlled pressroom environment.
  • Exposure to moving machinery and production equipment.
  • Moderate noise levels; hearing protection required during equipment operation.
