National Capitol Contracting is seeking an experienced Senior Foundry Engineer to develop, deploy, integrate, and scale Palantir Foundry solutions. This broader engineering role combines platform development, solution architecture, technical problem-solving, and customer-facing implementation. The successful candidate will work directly with Navy stakeholders to understand complex operational challenges and customize Foundry solutions that deliver measurable business and mission outcomes.
NAVSEA—one of the Navy’s six system commands and the organization responsible for both industrial operations and digital modernization—has partnered with National Capitol Contracting on the congressionally funded Naval Digital Logistics Acceleration program. This position provides an opportunity to lead technical deployments that strengthen the Navy’s data infrastructure, operational workflows, and digital capabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Palantir Foundry platform capabilities and enterprise solutions.
- Build and maintain data connectivity, model connectivity, ontology structures, applications, integrations, and developer toolchains.
- Work directly with customers and operational stakeholders to identify needs and customize Foundry solutions for specific business and mission outcomes.
- Decompose complex business and operational problems into practical technical requirements and scalable solutions.
- Lead Foundry implementation activities from discovery and solution architecture through configuration, deployment, integration, and production support.
- Integrate Foundry with databases, APIs, cloud services, enterprise applications, analytics platforms, and other external systems.
- Design and maintain ontology objects, relationships, actions, and workflows that support operational use cases.
- Build or support data pipelines, transformations, models, applications, and dashboards required for customer deployments.
- Make independent technical decisions and resolve complex architecture, integration, performance, and deployment issues.
- Ensure deployments and platform updates meet data governance, cybersecurity, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Establish technical standards, reusable components, engineering practices, and implementation processes.
- Partner with program managers, developers, data engineers, data governance teams, domain leads, and Navy stakeholders.
- Communicate technical designs, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Conduct solution demonstrations, gather user feedback, and refine deployed capabilities.
- Standardize best practices and support the adoption and scaling of Foundry across programs and stakeholder groups.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct solution reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Nine or more years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, solutions architecture, systems integration, technical consulting, or a related field.
- Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree, for a total of at least 13 years of relevant professional experience.
- Hands-on experience developing, deploying, integrating, or supporting Palantir Foundry solutions.
- Experience with data connectivity, model connectivity, ontology development, application development, or developer toolchains.
- Experience designing technical solutions based on complex customer, business, or operational requirements.
- Experience integrating enterprise platforms with databases, APIs, cloud services, and external applications.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL or other applicable software and data-engineering languages.
- Experience supporting the full solution lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and sustainment.
- Knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity, compliance, access controls, and secure system integration.
- Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical problems and make sound engineering decisions.
- Experience working directly with customers or end users to implement and improve technical solutions.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and experience collaborating across engineering, program, governance, and operational teams.
- Advanced experience with Palantir Foundry, including Ontology, Code Repositories, Pipeline Builder, Workshop, Contour, Actions, or Functions.
- Palantir Foundry certification or formal Foundry training.
- Experience in a forward-deployed engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or customer implementation role.
- Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Qlik, Power BI, or comparable data and analytics platforms.
- Experience deploying solutions within Department of Defense, Navy, federal government, or other regulated environments.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture, distributed systems, containerization, and modern enterprise data platforms.
- Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and release automation.
- Experience designing enterprise ontologies and integrating data into operational workflows.
- Experience leading complex platform implementations or enterprise modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of Agile development and rapid prototyping practices.
Compensation:
$150,000 - $180,000. The compensation range listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, budget, market data, and relevant laws.
