Job Description

The Material Control Technician involves receiving, storing, picking, packaging, and shipping products while adhering to company policies and procedures. The employee also exercises document control and creation, packaging, and preparation for shipment or transfer to company, vendor and client sites. Other responsibilities include routinely interfacing with internal and external stakeholders and supporting production efforts as needed.

The incumbent MUST have flexibility to work at or between locations in North Wales and Harleysville.

Accountabilities:

  • Sort, distribute, shelf/ store components received for job assignments.
  • Prep and package materials for shipment or transfer to other company sites or vendors.
  • Prepare accurate labeling for shipping.
  • Move, unload, stage and store materials utilizing lifting equipment such as fork trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts
  • Assist with assembling metalwork and the handling of sheet metal goods.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Assist with routine shop and equipment maintenance.
  • May be required to cross train, supporting other sections of the Company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Be proficient in the use of hand tools (i.e. ruler, scale, tape measure, calipers) and power tools.
  • Ability to interpret blueprint diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to pass certification to use of lifting/ moving equipment such as a pallet jack and fork truck.
  • High dedication to quality of results to avoid rework.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year of previous Inventory experience preferred.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Other preferred certifications (must be willing to undergo training provided by DVM if certifications not already held):
    • OSHA10
    • CPR
    • Forklift experience and/or certification
  • AutoCAD experience, a plus!
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.

  • Attendance & Punctuality:Maintain97% attendance rate with minimal tardiness.

  • Performance objectives, and their related measures, are determined in relation to the Strategic Plan; these are presented in accordance with Mission Critical Groups Policy, Objectives, Leadership Commitment and Communication procedure.
  • Safety Compliance: Zero safety violations or incidents; full adherence to PPE and safety protocol.
  • This position is jointly accountable to achieve targets on the following measures to help drive organizational and department success.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This is a FLSA non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis. Overtime may berequiredbased on production demands, including extended shifts, weekends, or holidays.
  • This role is based on the production floor. The position requires standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
