For more than 30 years, The Driveshaft Shop has engineered and manufactured high-performance driveline solutions for street and racing applications. At our Salisbury facility, we build steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber driveshafts along with custom CV axles for customers who expect performance, reliability, and precision.
The Carbon Fiber Driveshaft Assembly Technician is a hands-on manufacturing role for someone who takes pride in precise work and wants to see the finished product of their effort. You will prepare components, assemble carbon fiber driveshafts to DSS specifications, support balancing and inspection, and help ensure each product is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
What You Will Do• Review work orders, specifications, and standard procedures before beginning each build.
• Select and prepare carbon fiber tubes, yokes, flanges, hardware, and related components for assembly.
• Assemble carbon fiber driveshafts to application-specific requirements using approved tools, fixtures, and processes.
• Use basic measuring tools to verify dimensions, fit, alignment, and component condition at defined process steps.
• Support balancing, inspection, labeling, and final preparation activities as trained.
• Identify material, fitment, workmanship, or quality concerns and promptly stop, correct, or escalate the issue.
• Complete required production, quality, and system records accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation and follow all safety and housekeeping standards.
• Meet daily production expectations while protecting first-pass quality and minimizing scrap and rework.
• Cross-train in related driveshaft operations and participate in process standardization and continuous improvement.
• Perform other related production duties as assigned to support team and customer commitments.

Requirements: Minimum Qualifications• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and consistently follow detailed assembly procedures.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, specifications, safety instructions, and written procedures.
• Ability to use common hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and basic measuring tools safely and correctly.
• Basic math skills, including counting, measuring, and verifying quantities or dimensions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, safety, and accurate documentation.
• Ability to communicate clearly, work cooperatively with others, and raise concerns promptly.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work standard production hours with overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications• Prior experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, automotive repair, driveline work, or a related hands-on environment.
• Experience working with carbon fiber or composite materials.
• Experience using calipers, gauges, indicators, or other measurement tools.
• Experience with quality inspection, driveshaft balancing, or production documentation.
• Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification if assigned.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use of both hands throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
• Ability to work safely around production equipment, tools, and moving materials.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise and seasonal temperature variation.
