POSITION SUMMARY:

The YMCA of Southeastern NC is seeking a passionate Youth Services District Director to lead one of our fastest-growing areas of impact. In this role, you will oversee the operations of multiple youth development programs across several community locations, including Afterschool, Summer Camp, Preschool, and other enrichment initiatives serving children and families throughout Southeastern North Carolina. You will lead and support a team of program staff, build strong partnerships with schools and community organizations, and drive program quality and growth. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Recruit, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate staff to ensure high-quality program operations.
  • Oversee the daily operation, implementation, and continuous improvement of Afterschool and other assigned youth development programs
  • Develop, review, and support lesson plans, activities, and enrichment opportunities that promote positive youth development.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements to enhance participant experiences and outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school districts, parents, community partners, and other stakeholders to support program success.
  • Address parent, school, and community concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and support crisis management efforts when needed.
  • Manage program budgets, scheduling, enrollment, reporting, and operational systems to ensure effective and sustainable program delivery.
  • Ensure accurate program administration, reporting, recordkeeping, enrollment management, and operational data tracking through Daxko and other YMCA systems.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, licensing requirements, CACFP/SFSP regulations, and safety procedures. Respond appropriately to emergencies and risk management situations.
  • Lead program growth and expansion efforts. Support fundraising initiatives, organizational goals, and the YMCA mission and values.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supervising, developing, and leading staff.
  • Experience managing programs, operations, or multiple work sites.
  • Experience managing budgets and operational performance.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to supervise staff and oversee daily program operations.

  • Ability to manage budgets, scheduling, reporting, and administrative responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

YMCA SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
CPR & First Aid – Must be able to complete and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid; able to assist individuals in need until professional help arrives.

Emergency Response – Ability to quickly identify emergency situations (medical, fire, environmental, etc.) and respond appropriately following established procedures.

Incident Management – Required to report all safety incidents and hazards immediately and accurately to supervisors.

Safe Environment – Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment for all staff, members, and participants.

Physical Readiness – Must be able to perform physical tasks related to safety, including assisting individuals of various ages and physical abilities.

Compliance – Follow all YMCA safety protocols, OSHA standards, and state/local regulations as applicable.
