Job Description

Senior Business Development Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager based in Canada.

This is a fully remote sales leadership-track opportunity focused on new client acquisition and sustainable revenue growth.
You will own a personal business development target while proactively creating and converting opportunities across the full sales funnel.
The role combines outbound prospecting, consultative selling, networking, industry engagement, and end-to-end deal management.
You will build trusted relationships with prospective clients and position complex professional services as solutions to their operational and business needs.
Working closely with regional leadership, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success, you will help create a seamless journey from first contact through onboarding.
The environment is performance-driven, collaborative, inclusive, and designed to support continuous learning and progression.
This role is well suited to a resilient, commercially minded sales professional who thrives on self-generated pipeline and measurable results.

Accountabilities
  • Own and consistently deliver an individual new-business revenue target, maintaining a strong focus on pipeline generation, conversion, and closed revenue.
  • Proactively self-generate qualified opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, industry engagement, and targeted account research.
  • Respond promptly to high-intent marketing-qualified leads, qualify prospects using appropriate frameworks, convert qualified opportunities into sales opportunities, and present relevant solutions.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from initial outreach and discovery through solution presentation, negotiation, objection handling, and closing.
  • Maintain persistent and structured follow-up with prospects, using multiple touchpoints to maximize conversion opportunities.
  • Build targeted call lists and prospecting campaigns using CRM and sales-enablement technologies and other relevant data tools.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, trade shows, and client meetings to develop relationships, increase market visibility, and generate new opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand conversations beyond initial requirements by introducing relevant complementary services and beginning to map broader account needs.
  • Close opportunities within agreed parameters and in alignment with regional sales strategy, seeking appropriate internal sign-off where required.
  • Escalate larger, more complex, or strategically significant opportunities to senior leadership or appropriate specialist resources when additional expertise is needed.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, activity tracking, pipeline visibility, and reliable sales forecasts.
  • Work closely with regional leadership on sales strategy, coaching, deal planning, and complex opportunities.
  • Partner with Marketing to convert campaigns and market activity into qualified commercial opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Customer Success to support smooth client handovers and onboarding.
  • Share knowledge, sales insights, and best practices with colleagues while contributing to a high-performance team culture.
  • Take ownership of professional development by seeking feedback, completing training, strengthening sector knowledge, and continuously refining sales techniques.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record in new-business sales, ideally within ISO consultancy, industry standards, professional services, governance/risk/compliance, or another environment involving complex solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed individual sales targets and translate self-generated opportunities into revenue.
  • Strong outbound prospecting skills, with the confidence and discipline to independently build and manage a qualified pipeline.
  • Experience managing the full business development cycle, including prospecting, qualification, discovery, presentations, negotiation, and closing.
  • Strong consultative selling abilities and the capacity to understand customer requirements and connect them to appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercially driven, resilient, proactive, and motivated by measurable results.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively with regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities and maintain consistent follow-up.
  • Confident using CRM platforms such as Salesforce and committed to maintaining accurate activity, opportunity, and forecasting data.
  • Comfortable using modern sales-prospecting and lead-generation tools to identify and engage potential customers.
  • Willingness to attend industry events, conferences, networking opportunities, and client meetings as required.
  • Growth-oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn, accept feedback, develop sector expertise, and progress toward increasingly senior responsibilities.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote position within Canada.
  • Full-time employment.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with the scope and responsibilities of the role.
  • Performance-driven sales environment with an individual new-business target.
  • Opportunities for professional development, training, and continuous learning.
  • Coaching and support from regional leadership.
  • Opportunities to build expertise in ISO standards, consultancy, and the broader governance, risk, and compliance space.
  • Exposure to a global client base and collaboration with teams across multiple regions.
  • Collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Strong emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Opportunities for career progression and advancement into more senior commercial roles.
  • Access to industry events, networking opportunities, and professional relationship-building activities.
