Job Summary:

The employee health nurse is responsible for keeping files on all Magnolia Regional Health Center's employees up to date. This includes the yearly flu shots and the Hepatitis B vaccine for all eligible employees. Also, new employees' physicals are part of the responsibilities, along with employee drug screens, color vision screening, and respirator fit testing. Is responsible for the reporting of worker's compensation claims.

Education Requirements:

Must have an associate's degree in nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

Must be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Mississippi or hold a multi-state license in the state of primary residency.

Experience:

At least two years of nursing experience are required. Prefer two years of employee health experience.

Language/Communication Skills:

English required. Multilingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to a prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
