The Fence Estimator plays a critical role in supporting the sales process by conducting site assessments, developing accurate material and labor estimates, and creating detailed scopes of work for fence installation projects. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys to assess terrain, measurements, access, obstructions, and installation requirementsAnalyze client needs and recommend appropriate fence types, materials, and configurationsDevelop detailed fence estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and timelinesCreate technical scopes of work and installation methodologies for proposal packagesInterpret blueprints and site plans to ensure accurate takeoffs and compliance with specificationsCollaborate with sales teams to support proposal development and client presentationsMaintain vendor and distributor relationships to stay current on materials, pricing, and product innovationsSupport project handoff by providing accurate documentation to project managers and field supervisorsOther duties as business and client needs evolve

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Ability to lift up to 10-25 lbs.Office environment with collaborative team interactionMinimal travel requiredOutdoor site visits in varying weather conditions when requiredComfortable working in outdoor environments with exposure to weather, noise, and other elements

Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in fence estimating, construction estimating, or a related fieldStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft TeamsExperience with fence materials and systems such as chain link, ornamental steel, wood, vinyl, gates, and perimeter security enhancementsKnowledge of construction practices, site preparation, and installation methodsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and civil plansMust pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check
