At The Joseph, every detail matters—even while the city sleeps. We are seeking a dependable, polished, and service-driven Night Auditor to join our Front Office team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an independent overnight environment while still delivering the warm, personalized service expected at a luxury hotel.
The Night Auditor serves as both a Front Desk Ambassador and overnight accounting resource, ensuring our guests are cared for throughout the night while accurately completing the hotel’s daily financial and operational close.
What You’ll DoAs Night Auditor, you will:
- Provide exceptional, personalized service to guests throughout the overnight shift in accordance with The Joseph, Marriott Luxury Collection, and Forbes service standards.
- Welcome and register arriving guests, complete check-ins and check-outs, issue room keys, and process payments.
- Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns with professionalism, urgency, and genuine care.
- Anticipate guest needs and identify opportunities to create memorable experiences.
- Assist with guest service recovery and appropriately communicate concerns to hotel leadership.
- Answer incoming calls and provide accurate information regarding hotel services, amenities, hours of operation, and the surrounding Nashville area.
- Complete the hotel’s night audit process, ensuring all daily transactions, postings, payments, and account balances are accurate.
- Review and reconcile guest accounts, room charges, deposits, credit card transactions, and other financial activity.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies prior to closing the business day.
- Prepare and distribute required daily financial and operational reports.
- Verify room status, rates, and occupancy information for accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Communicate important overnight activity, guest concerns, and operational issues to the morning Front Office team and leadership.
- Work closely with Security, Engineering, Housekeeping, In-Room Dining, and other overnight departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Maintain the appearance, organization, and readiness of the Front Desk and lobby areas.
- Follow all hotel safety, security, cash-handling, privacy, and emergency procedures.
- Perform additional Front Office and operational responsibilities as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous Front Desk, Night Audit, or hotel guest services experience preferred.
- Previous luxury or full-service hotel experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of Forbes Travel Guide service standards is a plus.
- Experience with hotel property management systems and Marriott systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with financial transactions and reconciliation.
- Excellent guest service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and resourceful when handling guest concerns or unexpected situations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities independently.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision during overnight hours.
- A genuine hospitality mindset and passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
The Night Auditor plays a unique and important role at The Joseph. You are often the primary point of contact for our guests overnight and are entrusted with ensuring both the guest experience and the hotel’s financial day conclude successfully.
