Summary Objective
The Continuous Improvement Technician supports production and Continuous Improvement initiatives by collecting process data, documenting standard work, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and flow. This role plays a critical part in developing repeatable processes, particularly during First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) builds where standards and workflows are still being established.
Essential Functions
- Collect and record manufacturing data including cycle times, labor hours, and process durations.
- Observe and document actual work performed throughout production processes.
- Identify and log waste related to waiting, rework, material shortages, and inefficiencies.
- Support development of baseline metrics for productivity, throughput, and process stability.
- Capture detailed FOAK build information including materials, sequencing, and installation methods.
- Organize photos, videos, and documentation to support process standardization.
- Assist in translating FOAK learnings into repeatable standard work.
- Document current-state processes and support development of work instructions.
- Validate standard work by comparing documented processes to actual execution.
- Maintain organized process documentation and training records.
- Participate in root cause analysis and waste elimination activities.
- Support implementation and validation of process improvements and pilot programs.
- Collaborate with the Moonshine team on fixtures, jigs, visual management tools, and shop-floor improvements.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and CI teams to align processes and execution.
- Communicate findings and observations clearly to support operational decision-making.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Location
This position will work out of our Manufacturing Facility in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.
Work Environment
This position operates out of a manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel
Anticipated up to 15% travel for this position. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary. Occasional travel to customer job sites and conferences may be required.
Required Education and Experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately capture real-time information.
- Proficiency with Excel, tablets, and data collection systems preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or construction-related environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles preferred.
Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
