Position Summary

The Lead AML/CFT Analyst is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the AML/CFT program, including supervision of staff, workflow management and quality assurance. This role ensures operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and consistent investigative standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervises and manages AML/CFT Analysts and Sr. Analysts, including performance evaluations, coaching and development.
  • Assigns, prioritizes and monitors case workloads to ensure timely completion and adherence to SLAs
  • Reviews SAR recommendations and case documentation for quality, completeness, and regulatory accuracy
  • Serves as primary escalation point for complex or sensitive investigations
  • Monitors team productivity and performance metrics and report trends to the AML/CFT Officer
  • Ensures consistency in investigative approaches, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Supports AML/CFT system enhancements, including testing and tuning, in coordination with the AML/CFT Officer
  • Assists in implementation of process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and risk detection
  • Supports CRB oversight activities and ensure adherence to FinCEN guidance
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development

Knowledge, Skills & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; CAMS or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in AML/CFT or financial crimes compliance with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Deep knowledge of FinCEN’s guidance and BSA reporting requirements for marijuana-related businesses.
  • Subject matter expert in BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, and related compliance laws.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain regulatory standards under pressure.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases.
  • Proficiency in using AML/CFT detection software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers, staff, and external stakeholders.

Physical Demands

This job operates in a bank branch office but may require some remote work and travel. This position is an office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one’s workspace. While this job is mainly clerical, there may be instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds. Pay Range Disclosure

The pay range for this position is based on the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Actual pay will depend upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, business or organizational needs, affordability and market pay. The posted range may be modified in the future as market data or organizational priorities change.
