The Home Supervisor / Lead Home Supervisor oversees individual group homes and ensures that Home Assistant Supervisors and Direct Support Professionals (DSP) provide students with neurodevelopmental disabilities quality care and programming to gain independence in their daily living, community, and academic skills.

As a Home Supervisor, you will:

  • Operations Management: Under the direction of the Residential Services Manager, assist in facilitating the unified system of service delivery between the classroom and residential settings for each group home during all residential hours. Foster a positive residential environment that meets or exceeds licensing requirements. (Excellence)
  • Program Implementation: Develop and implement student schedules and instructional programming. Monitor and evaluate present levels of performance and ensure consistency and quality of programs. Develop and meet the budget for the group home. Ensure financial integrity and record keeping along with reports and documentation. (Possibility)
  • Family Engagement: Interact regularly with parents and families and maintain positive relationships. Interact appropriately and effectively with a variety of individuals with varying needs, ensuring timely and considerate service. (Service)
  • Quality Assurance: Lead the implementation of Quality Assurance integrity checks. Ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. (Integrity)

*In addition to the above duties, as a 3rd shift home supervisor you will:

  • Supervise overnight staff across 2–3 group homes (approx. 18 total).

*As a Lead Home Supervisor, you will:

  • Mentor: Mentor and provide training to new and current home supervisors, modeling leadership, trauma-informed practice, and problem-solving. Work through holistic solutions and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Operational Support: Assist with new home staff and student openings, transitions or high-risk placements. Ensure Home Supervisors and staff receive the appropriate guidance and complete the items needed for success.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety: Lead overall residential internal audits. Guide residential environments through policy, procedure, and care-standard adherence, identifying training gaps and working through solutions with support services.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
  • Valid Kansas driver's license required, good driving record preferred.
  • Experience as a Home Assistant Supervisor in good standing, and/or one (1) year of supervisory experience working with children with Autism and/or developmental disabilities, in a residential setting preferred.
  • CPR Certification maintained and in good standing.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification maintained and in good standing.

Work Environment:

  • Environment: Indoor and outdoor work environments
  • Safety Compliance & PPE Requirements: Adherence to safety protocols and protective gear use constantly. Mandatory use of Heartspring standard PPE, with additional protective gear (e.g., gloves, helmets, arm guards, leg guards) provided as needed.
  • Physical Interactions & Exposure Risks: Frequent exposure to physical interactions from clients, including slapping, hitting, punching, kicking, head-butting, and biting. Potential exposure to infectious diseases, parasites, bodily fluids, and blood-borne pathogens in a school and residential care setting.
